My 29th birthday =)

Today I turned 29 and well David had to work on my birthday. I was a bit bummed but I did get to spend the day with one of my closest friends Lisa. She is such a sweetie and made my day really special. We usually do a simple lunch of PB&J (it's not about the food but getting to spend time together and I personally LOVE PB&J) but not today. She made hamburgers and hot dogs and then made some of the most delicious brownies! Yummmy!! She even put a candle on it and I had 3 lovely helpers to blow it out (we did). She made me a very cute smiley face happy birthday sign. We just had a great time visiting despite a boy of mine that a bit of an attitude (Dakota is 5 and Lisa's girls are 2 and 7 months (Natalie and Abby are such cutie pies by the way) so he got bored) and before we left she offered to watch them all while I went to the fabric store. I did decline but to offer was so sweet. She's a great friend to have and made my birthday extra special. The many phone calls, cards, and Facebook and Myspace messages helped a lot too! Thanks to everyone that made me feel so loved and special on my birthday! =)

Date night =) =)

David and I actually got to go out on a date a couple of weeks ago (I'm just now getting to blogging about it). We went out to dinner at this little place called The Coffee Cup and then we went to a movie.. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. We both liked the movie a lot. The service at dinner was slow (we forgot that they take there time at The Coffee Cup) but we enjoyed our food (David didn't like his entree but the appetizer rocked and so did my entree... hand cut fries=yummy). We really enjoyed being able to talk freely over dinner and not get interrupted by children. I forgot how nice it was to go to a movie with just my husband. This date made me realize how important it is for a marriage for the husband and wife to KEEP dating. David and I have stopped going on dates but not anymore. It's a lot of work to get a sitter lined up and Emma and Dakota were still up at midnight (the sitter fell for Emma's...I'm not tired) but they were well behaved the next day. It was all worth it!! We love our sitter Nicole (she rocks). =)

I say all of that to say I can't wait to go on another date with my husband. I'll have to wait a couple of weeks and it probably be to celebrate my 29th birthday. I am hoping we get to go to The Melting Pot (I've always wanted to go and David has finally given in). My birthday is on the 13th but David works at the firehouse so this year I'll get to celebrate early!! Yayy! =) I just can't wait to have another date with the man I love, to celebrate another year I've been able to spend with him and another year he's put up with me!! LOL =)

I almost forgot because I'm off in la la land thinking of my hubby. One of the best parts of my date night was getting dressed up for my man. I did my hair, wore a sexy top, and felt fabulous!! =) Emma was very cute because she wanted her hair done just like mine. This wonderful date night is one I don't ever want to forget! =)

Co Co Key Indoor Water Park =)

We all had a blast at Co Co Key the indoor water park at Cherry Valley Lodge. It was so neat to be in the warm indoors playing in the water while it was snowing outside. The water was a bit chilly like a luke warm temp. but the kids didn't mind one bit well Wyatt wasn't to thrilled to play in the water. He did enjoy the hot tub that was just the right temperature. A funny moment was when we first arrived at the water park there was a bell that was going off well little did we know it was a warning that this huge barrel of water would be dumping out. David just happened to be walking under it as it dumped everywhere! He got soaked and I laughed and laughed! =) We played for a few hours and went back to the room for some yummy pizza. Happy 5th Birthday Dakota! =)

Happy 5th birthday Dakota! We had a fun filled day on December 30th as we celebrated Dakota's 5th birthday! We had a yummy breakfast of pancake puffs and banana bread. We had a blast at Build-A-Bear in the afternoon. He picked out an adorable lab puppy he named Hunter. He also picked out a camo outfit and a camo tent for Hunter to live in at home. He had a lot of fun. We had a yummy dinner at Mimi and Papa McGee's house of stripper fish that Dakota caught in Arkansas in June, shrimp, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, and strawberries. We had donuts for dessert (a different thing other than birthday cake and he loved it... he also enjoyed picking out a special donut for each family member). We opened gifts after the donuts. He had a fun birthday! I can hardly believe he's 5 years old. He's a sweet and loving boy full of adventure and a love for the outdoors. I love my son so much and I'm one proud mama of this awesome little boy! =)

These are some photos I took for Wyatt's 1 year photo shoot. I took them outside in front of our barn. He didn't really want to pay attention to me though. I just LOVE them in the sepia brown color. They just fit the cowboy theme perfectly! I just love how he's holding his hat in the B&W photo but I wished he would have looked at me! My little cowboy is 1 and I can't believe it!! He's getting more and more like a little boy everyday and love to get into EVERYTHING!! He keeps me on my toes! He's such a little blessing!

A few more pictures of my little boy! I did one smile out of the little stinker. He does have the sweetest little smile. He was so distracted and just checking out the neighbors dog that was over visiting than wanting to smile for my camera. I'm happy with how these turned out and now I'll tackle the indoor photos (I'm even going to do cake ones... my first try at this type of photo shoot).

Also I wanted to mention the cute horse Wyatt is on was made by one of David's best friends Josh. He made the horse for Dakota when he was a baby. All 3 kids love it! We'll always cherish this special gift made with so much love. He also gave this cowboy shirt to Dakota (Dakota also wore it for his 1 year photos... I'll have to try to find one and post it beside one of Wyatt). =)
